What a privilege to be a part of this family!! Do you know everything you should about the early college model? What about Delaware State University?
Task: Your job is to INDIVIDUALLY research either the early college high school model/program or Delaware State University and create a mini research paper.

Step 1: EACH PERSON is to choose either the early college high school model/program or Delaware State University and complete your brainstorming. Fold a sheet of paper in half, and list every word that comes to your mind when you think about your choice.
Step 2: On the bottom half of that paper, create a table with three columns:
Label column 1: MUST use
Label column 2: SHOULD use
Label column 3. SHOULD NOT use
Categorize the words from your brainstorm list into words you MUST use to find good information, words you SHOULD use to find good information, and words you SHOULD NOT use. Place them in the appropriate column.
Step 3: Create five or more questions about your topic to which you want to find the answer. List them on the back of your paper at the top. NUMBER THE QUESTIONS!!
For example: How many Early College High Schools are there?
Step 4: Now the research begins! Using your MUST USE and SHOULD USE keywords, research your topic by looking for answers to your questions. Under your questions, record the information your find THAT ANSWERS A QUESTION and write the number of the question it answers IN THE LEFT MARGIN. Be sure to site the sources!!!
Step 5: Narrow your focus by looking at what information you have found and which questions have the most support/evidence. From this, create two thesis statements: a list and an umbrella. Record these after your research.

The Great Pyramid of Giza
• Is the largest and oldest of the pyramids in Giza Necropolis.
• The oldest of the original seven wonders.
• Originally, the great pyramid was covered by a casing stones that formed a smooth outer surface.
• There have been different theories on how the pyramid construction techniques.
• There are three chambers known chambers in the Great pyramid.
Hanging Gardens of Babylon
• The only one of the seven originals wonders of the world whose location was not definitely established.
• The gardens was built for king Nebuchadnezzar II‘s wife.
• The lack of evidence has made it been suggested that the Hanging Gardens are a myth.
• If the gardens did exist it was destroyed sometime after the first century.
• The original may have been built in the capital city.

• The monument was created for the queen of Turkey in memory of her husband.
• It’s a large above ground tomb.

Colossus at Rhodes
• The height of the statue of Helios is about 105 ft. tall.
• He worked on the statue for 12 years.
• It was destroyed by an earthquake in 224 bc.
• The Rhodes is on a Greek island.
• The statue is made from bronze.
Pharos of Alexandria
• It’s the seventh wonder of the world.
• It was built in the 3rd century.
• It was located on the coast of Egypt.
• It was destroyed in the 13th century by an earthquake.
Simple Sentence: The Hanging Gardens of Babylon can be proven as a myth.
Compound Sentence: The Hanging Gardens is the only 7 wonders that does doesn’t have an exact location and, the King Nebuchadnezzar II‘s built the gardens for his wife.
Complex Sentence: The gardens could have been destroyed in the first century, the gardens were supposed to be built in the capital city, and are associated with the mythical Assyrian.
Compound -Complex Sentence: The Hanging Gardens has no Babylonian documentation that the gardens ever existed, if the gardens ever existed it would take approximately 8,200 gallons a day to keep the garden alive, but the hanging plants in the hanging gardens wouldn’t be hung or “hanging”.

Thesis statement – Early College is a great way to go. You will have a great way to earn 60 credit followed by high school credits.
Umbrella- There is many ways ECHS is great. You earn 60 credits an high school credit, Than you will have a shorter college year.
